Our coaches are volunteers, too!
Ideally, we would like every team coached by a former Premier League or La Liga pro. In real life, we've had winning teams coached by people who never made the Varsity team in high school. Most of our coaches fall somewhere in-between.
If you're a former high-school or college star, great! And if you're not, great! LYFC tries to provide a professional or more experienced coach to provide guidance and drills for at least one of your practices a week. More than anything, we need someone who can keep a group of 10-18 kids safe, active and inspired to keep working on the skills they learn each week and apply those skill to games.
Because the safety of children is paramount, there are additional steps you'll need to take, after registering on our site. These include:
- Creating an account with the Mass Youth Soccer Assoc. and submitting to both a CORI and NBGC check.
- Completing an online CDC Concussion Training course.
- Completing an online SafeSport Abuse Prevention Training course.
The two courses can be completed in a single evening. You can read more about MYSA's Adult Coaching Requirements here:

These requirements were a terrifying prospect, 2 years ago. A lot has been streamlined and automated, since then, and you'll find the process pretty painless.
If you think this is something you can handle, then please continue on to our Coaches Registration page.
